I was asked to photograph a UNLV baseball game a while ago, and while the game was exciting, the people watching it were way more exciting. Like this guy, upon seeing me shoot him gave me a priceless expression!

The Dragonlord

This summer break, I went to the Disneyland with the girlfriend and her family. Even to the Disneyland, I wouldn't not take my camera, and while they were looking at all the stuff around, I was people watching which is one of my favorite things to do in crowded places. And it paid off handsomely; this couple was a sight to behold.

This is Parami, my cousin sister who used to live in Salt Lake City until recently, and while she was there she would pay me a visit every couple of month which was always fun!

Where to Next?

I went to the Disneyland, CA, during the Summer break of 2015 and of course I didn't forget to take the camera with me. Among all the interesting displays, architecture and stuff, I find people are the most fascinating. If you find a good enough place to hide yourself you can go complete paparazzi without anyone noticing and you can take quite a few good shots because people are totally in their element at a place like this. This is one of my favorites from the day.

Okay, I didn't take this picture (well I'm in it, so, duh...) but hey, I'm allowed in there sometimes am I not. I must actually thank my cousin Parami, she had the camera while me and Sandu were just hanging out having fun and she captured the perfect moment when we shared a light kiss; although it looks like this was orchestrated, it is not. We are both holding our hats not because we were posing but because it was extremely windy out there. This was in a ranch near the Bear Lake, Salt Lake City, Utah, during our trip in spring 2015.

Toque macaque, commonly known as 'Rilawa' in Sinhalese, is an Old World monkey endemic to Sri Lanka. In central and north-central parts of the country where there's a lot of wilderness they are aplenty. Locals aren't always very fond of them, for they can be very cunning and creative when it comes to destroying your garden fruits and the like, but they usually find their sanctuary in places such as temples which are also abundant in that part of the country. This is such a family I met in the ancient city of Polonnaruwa in one site of ancient Buddhist ruins, and they were quite comfortable about me poking a camera in their faces!

Going total paparazzi on people in public places is one of my photography related guilty pleasures; it's not that I can't ask people for permission, but the problem is that when I do no longer can I capture true moments like these. During the Summer 2014, my last one in Japan, I went to this Shibazakura (Pink Phlox) park in Chiba prefecture with a good friend and we spent the whole day shooting. In between capturing the gorgeous scenery, I did not hesitate to spy on people, and with the whole selfie craze opportunities were ample. I was lucky enough to capture this wonderful moment where the young couple absorbed in their own world radiating love.
